The Pediatric Physiotherapy Center was born from the need to consider the child as such, and not as a “miniature adult”.
Over time, it has become necessary to develop a branch of physiotherapy aimed at rehabilitating specifically during all stages of growth, from the newborn to the transition from adolescence to the adult stage paediatric physiotherapy singapore.
To successfully complete a pediatric physiotherapy process, it is essential to consider the child in a global way, actively involving the family and the environment in which they live in the rehabilitation plan. Inform and train the family on the various stages of the path and on the achievable goals, according to the scientific literature.
So it is important to recognize and value the family as the child’s expert, the intermediary between the child and the outside world. This broader view of the whole will make it possible to optimize the benefits of the rehabilitation process.
An adult has a structurally developed body, while the child’s body is still developing and is therefore more sensitive to molding and external forces.
The pediatric intervention will therefore have to focus on two fundamental aspects, the enabling one which includes the acquisition of functional skills as a first learning process, and the re-enabling one which deals with the re-acquisition of lost skills.
In the Pediatric Physiotherapy Center we treat a wide range of pathologies, including:
stiff neck
craniofacial asymmetries and plagiocephaly
flatfoot
knee pain
idiopathic and postural scoliosis
curved back
sports overload diseases
spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis
traumatic pathologies: fractures, sprains and dislocations
gait abnormalities.
